Don’t make it harder than it has to be

We offer design and consulting services at Little Kingdoms. Both kick off with a big toy purge and conclude with streamlined organization for the finale. Of course we have some practices that we implement with all projects, but we also recognize that every family is different. This means that our organizational strategies can look different too. A system that works for one playroom may be totally unnecessary for another. It all depends on the people using it.

If you want things tidy, but aren’t the best at clean-up…

You can keep a tidy home and playroom without crazy complex systems. If you have kiddos who struggle to keep things neat or you’re a family who doesn’t care about color coding, or labeling, or alphabetized whatever, don’t do it! For example, you don’t need to separate out figurines into princesses, army guys, my little ponies, etc. If they all fit in the basket, then bam! It’s the figurine basket. If folding every dress up into a perfect sushi roll will interfere with cleanup, DON’T DO IT. If tossing it in a bin works, THAT’S GREAT!

The goal?

For everything to genuinely belong somewhere. For your child to have easy access to their materials during play. And finally, for them to know exactly where to put it when they’re finished. We are here to create sustainable systems for your family, whether that’s with zippers and compartments or not :)
