Frank Gehry
Artist Inspiration: Frank Gehry
We had the best time honoring architect Frank Gehry this week in Mini Met! We used recyclables and tin foil to recreate some of his iconic designs on a smaller scale.
We love working with recyclables. Children always think of the most creative interpretations for them. This week we brought in some thin cardboards, empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls, plastic containers, and foil! We used Gehry’s Walt Disney Concert Hall as our inspiration, taking note of its bendy, curved exterior walls.
This was not an easy prompt, but the class employed a lot of problem solving as they undertook the challenge. Some of the items proved difficult to cut and manipulate, but once things started taking shape, everyone was feeling very proud of their work! Check out some images below :)
