Keith Haring’s Dancing Figures

Artist Inspiration: Keith Haring

We dove into figure drawing this week as we used Haring’s movin’ and groovin’ subjects as inspiration.

Drawing people can sometimes be intimidating, so we brought in our little mannequins to help. The children decided how they wanted the arms and legs positioned and used the figures as a guide to draw subjects of their own among other shapes and doodles. Haring’s style was so playful and vibrant. The oil pastels paired with dark black markers made for some very pigmented end results! Check out some of their work below!
